Fewer reports of nuisance have been made around Groningen Airpot Eelde (GAE). This is evident from the annual report of the GAE Air Traffic Reporting Desk.

Last year, 933 reports were registered at the counter. That number has halved compared to the previous year, when there were 1,834 reports.

Compared to 2024, there were 1,577 more flights to and from Eelde last year. Of the total of 59,571 flights at GAE, three quarters of them are training flights from the KLM Flight Academy (KFA) and other flying schools.

A total of 89 people complained to the reporting desk last year. After the fiftieth report from the same person in one year, the counter will stop analyzing the report. There were 4 ‘frequent reporters’ active last year, 515 reports of them were registered.

This means that the other 418 reports have been subjected to an analysis in the aircraft tracking system. That number has decreased compared to the 539 in 2024. The number of reporters has also decreased compared to 2024. At that time, reports were received from 154 people, including three ‘frequent reporters’.

Of the reports that could be traced, most came from Glimmen, Yde, Donderen, Eelde and Haren last year. Except for Eelde, there was a ‘frequent reporter’ in every village.

Most people have filed a report about an aircraft flying over low and in general. Of the 418 reports analyzed, the counter was able to link 317 to a flight. The most reported nuisance last year was caused by a training flight.

The counter has forwarded 5 reports to the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. They are responsible for monitoring aircraft movements in the airspace.
