On social media, the reactions of viewers to both on the Beeck and Akyol are mostly negative. “Really so cool that Eus Zomergast is. I didn’t know anything about him yet, he is practically never on TV,” writes Ilonka Leenhoor cynically.

Another viewer shares a video of a fragment in which Akyol and Op de Beeck make it clear to each other, and that they have been opposite each other several times in interview setting: “I think you are very interesting, I hope that is mutual,” Akyol tells his interviewer. The text above the video in the message is again cynical in Toon: “It really isn’t a clique. Really not, no really not. Really not!” The X message receives more than 200 likes.
