Amsterdam – Thousands of Dutch people are on the waiting list of the UWV. They must undergo a medical assessment to determine whether they will receive disability benefits after two years of illness. Their numbers are growing and so are the waiting times. The rules are far too complicated, experts say. “Insurance doctors are submerged in the protocols.” They also argue that other assessments should not be carried out for the time being.
