“We were shocked by the statements that Bob Vylan made from the West Holts Stage yesterday. Their slogans were clearly written and we urgently remind us of everyone involved in the production of the festival that there is no room for anti -Semitism, hate speech or incitement to violence on Glastonbury,” said festival boss Emily Eavis in a statement.

The Israeli embassy in the United Kingdom had previously said to be “deeply worried” by “the incitement and hateing rhetoric that was expressed on the stage of the Glastonbury Festival.” There was also criticism from the British government. The Minister of Culture has requested clarification from the British broadcaster BBC. The performance of Bob Vylan can no longer be viewed on BBC IPLAYER.

It was previously announced that the Avon and Somerset police, where Glastonbury takes place, started an investigation into the slogans. Research is also being done into the performance of Rapgroep Kneecap. At Kneecap’s performance, Sluzen, among others, were heard against British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
