Ferris wheel back as eye-catcher at TT Festival in Assen

As Ten Bosch’s successor, Jan Gerbrand Krol has often been asked ‘whether the beautiful Ferris wheel could please come back’. “And then you’re going to try to arrange that. So you succeeded.” Moreover, according to Krol, the Ferris wheel is a beautiful one eye-catcher for the festival. “It is a beautiful picture, that high multi-colored attraction right on the Vaart. Everyone is talking about it. And you immediately see that there is commotion in the city.”

Krol cannot say much about the further content of the upcoming TT Festival. According to him, the catering entrepreneurs involved are still busy filling the music stages with an attractive program.

“And that’s quite a tour this time, because music bands are asking high prices these days. And it all has to be paid for, so you don’t just have a good line-up.” In March, Krol hopes to be able to present the program for the upcoming TT Festival.

In any case, the festivities will start on Saturday 17 June with the opening of the TT Fair and the first TT City Run. This new running event stems from the former TT Run on the TT Circuit and the Asser Stadsloop. The new loop will soon connect the race track with the city centre.

Runners for the 5 kilometers start on the TT Circuit and go via De Haar, the Asserbos, and the Nassaulaan to the finish on the Torenlaan. At the 10 and 15 kilometers, one or two laps are run around the circuit, after which the route goes to the city. 2,500 runners are expected.
