Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz was the fastest in Budapest

The first free practice of the Hungarian GP went at the pace of Carlos Sainz.

Carlos Sainz was the fastest when the first practice session of the Hungarian GP was run on the hot Hungaroring track.

Sainz left Max Verstappen’s 0.130 seconds away. The two fought evenly together in Ferrari Charles Leclerc with the prime time of training.

Alfa Romeo Valtteri Bottas was again forced to the side of the pit when the test driver Robert Kubica toured the track in his car. The Pole finished second to last in the final results, about 2.5 seconds slower than Sainz.

Bottas can also get on the track when the second practice session starts at 18:00.
