Like every year, the magic of the first start-up in Maranello arrived and brought with it the enthusiasm and uncertainty of the start of the championship. A few days before the appointment on January 23rd, when the SF-26 will be presented to the public, Ferrari has made it known – through a video published on its social channels – that the ritual of starting the single-seater’s engine has finally taken place. The Italian team thus makes its fans hear the sound that will become the protagonist of a revolutionary season now upon us, where the engines will be one of the great reasons for change, and uncertainty, in the hierarchies that we will see on the grid starting from the debut in Melbourne on March 8th.

Between this fire-up and the first GP of the season, however, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, present in the video published by the red team and in the front row in Maranello with team principal Fred Vasseur in these days of great work within the team, will be involved in decisive appointments to correctly prepare the start of the championship: after the presentation on 23 January the new Ferrari will take to the track at Fiorano for the traditional shakedown, followed by the first tests (behind closed doors) in Barcelona from 26 to 30 January. In February it will be Bahrain’s turn with two separate test sessions which will show the first, more realistic results of the forces expected on the track in the prologue of the season. “But this World Cup will not be decided in Australia – Vasseur has repeated several times – it will be a long marathon”. A marathon that begins, in Maranello, with the ignition of this engine.
