Ferdi Kadıoğlu, who plays for the English Premier League team Brighton, evaluated the two matches of the National Team in the 2026 World Cup play-offs.
Ferdi, who contributed to the team with the only goal he scored in Türkiye’s win over Romania in the play-off semi-finals, stated that this goal made him happy.
In his statement to Sky Sports, Ferdi said, “There was great pressure. We had not been in the World Cup for 24 years. We played two matches to qualify. I am happy to support the team by scoring a goal in the first match. We managed to win the final match 1-0. It was not easy and it was not one of our best games, but we won and guaranteed our place in the World Cup.” he said.
Explaining his conversation with Arda Güler during the half-time of the Romania match, Ferdi stated that the goal developed as they planned:
“It was a good goal. We talked about it with Arda during the halftime. We were against a defensive team. I know Arda’s quality. I told him, ‘I will run when he gets the ball on his left foot.’ Then, whatever we talked about during the halftime, the goal happened exactly like that.”
