Feijóo urges the PP to work “hard” on 18F so as not to lose “by a handful of votes”

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóohas urged the party to work “hard” for the Galician elections on February 18 because “for a handful of votes” a Government can be lostas he believes has happened at the national level where “by four votes we are in the opposition,” he said.

In some improvised words before those attending the twenty-sixth Interparliamentary of the PP that this Sunday closes in Ourense, Feijóo began by claiming his origin from Ourense and investments in this province, which is its “bastion” in Galicia, and he has ended up asking not for the vote, because it is not possible yet, but for “the trust” that was given to him for years at the polls now go to his successor, the president of the Xunta and candidate, Alfonso Rueda.

Feijóo recalled that the Galician elections are the first elections after the general electionswhich is why he has asked that when going to cast the ballot in the ballot box, the Galicians think “of Galicia and Spain” so that this community continues to be a “school of good politics” and guarantor of “stability.”

“We will be the first to be consulted about what is happening”he insisted, which is why he hopes that Galicia will once again be “a huge ball of oxygen” for the entire country, as it has always been “in times of concern,” he stressed.

He also recalled that The PPdeG lost the Xunta Government in 2005 “by one seat” and has asked that no one in the party be “distracted” from the “fundamental objective” which is to give “stability to Galicia.”

In any case, he has assured thate “the character of the people is formed not only in the Government, but also in the opposition”which is why he has considered that these years in the opposition will be very useful for the PP.

Because “you don’t come to politics to get power, between power and principles always come before principles,” he proclaimed.

In a special way, he thanked the former president of the PP of Ourense and the Provincial Council, now senator, Manuel Baltar, “the relief” in this province that he considers “an example”although he believes that everyone in the party, like himself in Rueda, has done well.

After confirming that he is going to actively participate in the Galician campaign, he noted: “We are going to have a good time, we are going to have fun.” “You never failed us, I’m counting on you”it is finished.
