The Manacor tennis player lamented the withdrawal of the Swiss

“It is a sad day for me personally and for sports around the world,” he said in a message on his social networks.

It didn’t take long for Rafa Nadal’s message to fire Roger Federer, a friend and great rival for so many years, from tennis. After announcing the Swiss that he was retiring after playing the Laver Cup, The Manacor tennis player has gone to social networks to comment on the news that has shaken the world of tennis in recent hours.

In a message on his Twitter account, Rafa Nadal lamented the withdrawal of Federer, with whom he had shared so many glorious afternoons during his career, and he did so with words full of emotion. “I wish this day had never come. It is a sad day for me personally and for sports around the world. It has been a pleasure but also an honor and a privilege to share all these years with you, living so many incredible moments on and off the track.”

It is not a goodbye, much less the one that the tennis player from Manacor wanted to give him, but a see you soon. Continuing with the message, Nadal has opened the door for him to do “many things together” in the future and has wished him all the happiness in the world for him and his family in the new stage that the Swiss is about to start.

“We will have many more moments to share together in the future, there are still many things to do together, we know that. For now, I really wish you all the happiness with your wife, Mirka, your children and your family and enjoy what awaits you. I’ll see you in London”Nadal added.
