Federal Government wants to increase VAT on gas and fuel oil boilers from 6 to 21 percent from 1 July

The VAT increase on heating boilers on gas or fuel oil, from 6 percent to 21 percent, would start on July 1. Minister of Finance Jan Jambon (N-VA) stated this on Tuesday in the Finance Chamber Committee, at the request of MP Patrick Prévot (PS). With the measure, the government wants to encourage Belgians to opt for climate -friendly fuels, as also stipulated in the coalition agreement.
