On Friday (November 11) the album to the soundtrack of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was released and with that came a surprise. The track list was announced on Instagram on November 2nd, but Rihanna’s “Born Again” was kept secret until the very end. The singer hadn’t released a solo song since her album ANTI (2016) – apart from recently “Lift Me Up”.

After Rihanna announced her appearance at the Superbowl halftime show and then delivered the lead single to the new movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” with “Lift Me Up”, fans’ hopes for more new music from the singer from Barbados grew. Rihanna addressed the rumors on Monday (November 7), saying: “Superbowl is one thing. New music is a different matter. Did you hear that, fans?” So it was time to wait again, but there was still a small consolation, namely in the form of “Born Again”.

Not only was Rihanna’s second solo track released in almost eight years, she also opened and ended the album BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER – MUSIC FROM AND INSPIRED BY for the film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”. In addition to Rihanna, the 20-song soundtrack album also features artists such as Burna Boy, Stormzy, Tems, Future and many more. The album, like the previous one, was produced by Swedish producer Ludwig Göransson, who won an Oscar and a Grammy for his work on the first Black Panther soundtrack album.
