FC Volendam strikes again and has former Ajax player Carel Eiting in

FC Volendam has strengthened itself with Carel Eiting. The 24-year-old midfielder was transfer-free after his departure from England’s Huddersfield Town and has signed with the PhD student for two seasons.

The native of Amsterdam went through Ajax’s youth academy and also got to know FC Volendam coach Wim Jonk there. After 31 matches in Ajax’s first match, Eiting left for Huddersfield Town on a rental basis. After six months, Eiting signed a four-year contract with KRC Genk in Belgium. This marriage did not last long and his contract was dissolved in January. Huddersfield Town struck and took over Eiting.

To trust

“I am really looking forward to playing for FC Volendam,” Eiting says on the FC Volendam club site. “A club with many ambitions and great growth potential. I have a lot of confidence in Wim Jonk and his team. I think their philosophy about football suits me perfectly and I am sure that I can develop further with them.”

The new season for FC Volendam starts this Sunday with an away match against FC Groningen. Kick-off is at 12:15 PM.
