The club accepted a settlement proposal from the KNVB prosecutor, which converted an earlier conditional punishment into a definitive punishment. In addition to closing part of the Pé Mühren Tribune, Volendam was fined 5000 euros, half of which was conditional.
Supporters of Volendam stopped fireworks on the Pé Mühren Tribune during the lost match against Excelsior (1-4). Cups were also thrown on the field and an entrance was stormed.
Volendam starts the Eredivisie on 9 August with an away game at SC Heerenveen. The first home game against AZ is on August 17.
