FC Utrecht sends flowers to Ajax striker Brian Brobbey after jungle noises

Brian Brobbey received a bouquet of flowers from FC Utrecht on Monday afternoon. The twenty-year-old striker scored the second goal for Ajax in Stadion Galgenwaard on Sunday afternoon. Then jungle sounds were heard in the stadium.

Brobbey admitted after the game that he hadn’t heard anything. Through his brother, he was informed of the racist noises made by a small group of FC Utrecht supporters.

The Amsterdammer reacted remarkably light-heartedly and said that it does nothing for him. “I don’t really care. We won well and people are frustrated,” Brobbey told NOS after the game.

Partly due to a goal from Brobbey, Ajax easily won a visit to FC Utrecht. After four games, the team from Amsterdam still managed to get the full loot. This Saturday, Brobbey will take on SC Cambuur with his team. Kick-off is at 16:30 in the Johan Cruijff Arena.
