FC Twente and Jody Lukoki split up after domestic violence | Dutch football

FC Twente and Jody Lukoki are separating, Tubantia reports. The 29-year-old footballer was recently convicted of hitting and kicking his girlfriend. The club and the player are in talks to dissolve the contract, which will continue for one year after this season.

Lukoki committed the domestic violence between October 1 last year and January 3 this year. The magistrate sentenced him to 80 hours of community service and a two-week suspended prison sentence, along with three years’ probation. He must also place himself under the supervision of the probation service.

FC Twente late in a reply to Tubantia know that “the club and Jody Lukoki entered into talks earlier this week following the events in the player’s private sphere. In this conversation, FC Twente indicated that it wanted to end the collaboration. Both parties are working on a solution, whereby the club has indicated that coming out for FC Twente is not an option.”
