Homegrown player Noah Weißhaupt has only made three short appearances at SC Freiburg in the current Bundesliga season. Not enough for the ambitious left winger, which is why a change could be in the offing in the winter. The TV station “Sky” reports that Freiburg league rivals FC St. Pauli and 1. FC Heidenheim are interested.
Initial discussions between the parties have already taken place, but a decision is still pending. The 23-year-old left winger, who joined the professionals in Breisgau three years ago after going through all the youth stages, is striving for regular playing time. The 1.81 meter tall right-footer contributed nine scorers in 78 competitive games for SC. It is said that Freiburg is ready to talk about the loan business.
Update December 23rd, 4:09 p.m.: According to new information from “Sky”, St. Pauli is in the running for Weißhaupt. Accordingly, a loan until the end of the season without a purchase option is about to be completed and it is expected to be completed shortly. Weißhaupt decided to take the appropriate step and rejected other options.
There is no official information about the length of Weißhaupt’s contract with his training club. It is also unclear whether a purchase option could be an issue in the discussions with St. Pauli and Heidenheim. Weißhaupt was able to increase his market value to the previous career high of 7 million euros exactly a year ago, but recently had to accept two devaluations. According to the December update on Friday, the offensive power is only estimated at half.
