Surprising departure at FC St. Pauli: Elias Saad will run for a league competitor in the future. The Hamburgers are supposed to collect a million sum for this.

Hardly any fan is likely to have expected this change: Elias Saad leaves FC St. Pauli. The 25 -year -old wing striker is now joining FC Augsburg, as both clubs announced on Thursday. He will wear jersey number 26 with the Fuggerstädters.

Augsburg’s managing director Michael Ströll said: “Elias is technically well -versed and brings dribble strength, speed and risk of gate – properties that will make our offensive game more flexible and unpredictable.” The FCA was convinced that Saad “far from exhausted” its potential.

The 25-year-old Hamburger, who runs for Tunisia’s national team (3 games, no goal), plays outside of northern Germany for the first time. “I look forward to introducing my strengths to an ambitious club like the FCA and further developing me,” he said. The conversations with his new club were “extremely positive” and gave him the feeling of taking the right step.

From FC St. Pauli it was said to say goodbye to Elias Saad: “Dear Elias, we thank you for your commitment and wish you all the best for the future!” According to information from “Sky”, the “Kiezclub” should collect two million euros.

In the Bundesliga season, a ligament and a muscle injury braked the fast-paced winger. In 18 league games he contributed three goals and two templates-in the 3-0 victory against SC Freiburg, he scored twice on matchday 5.

In total, Elias Saad has played 60 competitive games for the St. Pauli professionals since January 2023. He scored 14 goals and scored six more goals. For the U23, the offensive player kicked in four regon -ally games (three goals). Previously, Elias Saad played in the amateur area for Eintracht Norderstedt (4. League), HSV Barmbek-Hillenhorst (5th league) and even in the 6th division for the Buxtehuder SV.
