FC Schalke | S04 newcomer promises “winning mentality”

A week ago, FC Schalke 04 introduced Norwegian Marius Lode as a new signing. Just two days later he came on as a direct substitute in the 1-1 draw against Holstein Kiel. Soon he wants to establish himself as a regular player at Royal Blue.

So far, the two-time Norwegian international has been largely unknown in this country. The 28-year-old in the FC Schalke jersey wants to change that quickly from now on, as Lode explained in an interview with the “Media house Bauer” stressed confidently: “I think I’ve brought some winning mentality with me. I want to bring that to the team.”

With his last team FK Bodö/Glimt, Lode previously won the Norwegian championship twice and brought the club from the north of the country their first title wins in the elite series.

After these successful years, it was now time for a new challenge, emphasized the central defender, who played in the center of defense at FK Bodö/Glimt.

FC Schalke ties Lode until 2024

“I think Schalke is a very big club. Even if they’re currently playing in the second division and don’t really belong there. The history of the club, the environment, the players: I want to be a part of it and contribute my mentality to the big to achieve our goal,” said Lode.

The new signing from Schalke, who has signed a contract with the Bundesliga relegated team until 2024, made it clear that he wants to make the return to the top flight with the miners as early as possible this season: “The opportunities and advantages here are fantastic. That’s where we’re playing now not where I want to play and not where the club wants to play.”

Incidentally, Lode’s grandfather comes from Wuppertal, part of his family still speaks good German, as the defensive man reported. However, the Norwegian gave his first interviews in English.
