Bundesliga promoted FC Schalke 04 has found a new head coach. Frank Kramer will take over the Royal Blues in the future. The Revierklub will officially present its new man on the sidelines on Tuesday afternoon.

sport.de accompanies the press conference from 2:00 p.m. in the live blog.

+++ Which football will Schalke show in the future? +++

Kramer: We want to be courageous, but of course we also have to be stable in the Bundesliga. We know that we also have to be active. If the opponent lets us play, we want to play to our strengths. But in the league we also have to be adaptable. With that passion and that burning heart, we want to play in a way that the fans can go home and say: This is our Schalke 04.

+++ Kramer has his say +++

I am pleased to be here. Schalke is a very big club. 160,000 members is exceptional. I’m happy to be part of the team and to be able to tackle things. I’m super happy and I’m looking forward to the atmosphere in the Allianz Arena.

+++ Schröder on the motives for Kramer +++

I’m looking forward to the new season because we’re all working very hard. We play in the Bundesliga, don’t forget that. It was a hard road that we walked together. Nobody at Schalke 04 can do it alone. Community, that’s our way. You can’t just leave this path after a year. That’s why the choice was made for Frank Kramer.

Coaches, assistants, scouts, physios – they all did their part and will now develop us further. Frank Kramer is a leader, a leader. Frank Kramer’s biography: He has experience in the highest junior and professional areas, he works hard. I’ve known him for a long time and I’m convinced that he’s the right man. The joint work with Mike Büskens and Gerald Asamoah, also from the times at Greuther Fürth, should not be forgotten.

I am totally convinced and look forward to the work. As the saying goes: Anyone can do it easily.

+++ Knäbel for trainer search +++

I start the round with joyful happiness. Personally, I am very happy. It is the first PK as a first division team in a year. On the other hand, I’m happy to see some familiar faces. And I am happy to welcome Frank Kramer.

The exchange with the Supervisory Board was, as Rouven and I were used to, very familiar and closed. We took our time and that is our duty and our right. We took our time to come to a good decision. It was not only to consider which person is now following. But also what football Schalke 04 will play. We have dealt with the analysis and our ideas – the goal can only be relegation – for the new season. We want to continue on our way, the Schalke way.

We want to build expertise at Schalke and want to create an environment for the coaches who work at Schalke in which they and the players can develop.

At all times, I would like to say thank you to Rouven Schröder, we were able to act and in the decision-making role.

+++ Let’s go! Kramer’s tenure at Schalke begins +++

Frank Kramer takes a seat on the podium. Board member Peter Knäbel and sports director Rouven Schröder sit next to him. Here we go!

+++ Schalke 04 reports delay: Kramer hires at S04 +++

Shortly before the press conference, FC Schalke 04 announced: Frank Kramer will be the new head coach of the promoted team. The 50-year-old has been given a contract until 2024. “Frank is an absolute team player. Someone who can lead people and likes to gather experts around him to find the best possible solution for the team,” said sporting director Rouven Schröder in the statement. The Revierklub is likely to reveal further details and background information at the press conference shortly.

+++ Why Schalke threatens a BVB dilemma with Frank Kramer +++

After a tricky search for a coach, Frank Kramer takes over FC Schalke 04. The new head coach has a dubious reputation. In addition, the Royal Blues face a BVB dilemma. More about this here.

+++ What do the fans say about the new head coach? +++

While FC Schalke 04 was still secretive on Monday and initially did not want to reveal the name of the new head coach, the royal blue fans already gave their opinion on the new solution on the bench. The personnel has apparently not yet been able to trigger euphoria, as a look at the network reactions shows.

+++ FC Schalke 04 invites you to the press conference +++

Frank Kramer is the new coach at Bundesliga promoted FC Schalke 04. He succeeds Mike Büskens, who, as planned, is returning to his post as an assistant.

Kramer was released from Arminia Bielefeld at the end of April. The 50-year-old had previously looked after SpVgg Greuther Fürth, Fortuna Düsseldorf and the German U20 selection. There is therefore no transfer fee for the new coach.
