Kerim Calhanoglu was once considered one of the greatest talents of the Knappenschmiede, but the 20-year-old has not yet made a breakthrough in the FC Schalke professional team.
So the left-footed player is now trying his luck elsewhere: Calhanoglu’s loan deal to second division club SV Sandhausen was fixed on Saturday. There is no purchase option.
“I’ve made it my goal to stay up in the league with SV Sandhausen. Even if I’m a loan player, I’ll give everything for the club on the pitch. I want to learn a lot in the second division and develop into a seasoned professional.” , Calhanoglu commented on the move.
After being promoted to the Bundesliga, the youngster was only used in three matches, mostly he had to play in the U23s in the Regionalliga West, where he collected seven points.
