FC Emmen’s tour in an open bus through the center of Emmen this afternoon will continue. Mayor Eric van Oosterhout reports this.
Yesterday it seemed that the tour would be removed from the program by the police and the municipality. Dick Lukkien, trainer of FC Emmen, already made an appeal to the mayor to let that bus drive. “It just has to be a great party. Eric, come on man. That bus just has to drive”, he called out last night.
The mayor has now announced that the bus can indeed drive through the center. Additional measures have been taken for the safety of the supporters. “We are making it a great party together again,” said Van Oosterhout on social media.
FC Emmen has become champion for the first time as a professional club, in the Keuken Kampioen Division (the first division), despite the team losing to FC Eindhoven. But because the competition also lost, the title is secured.
