FC Emmen signs René Dale as board member: ‘Drenthe talents should not go to Groningen or Heerenveen’

The board of FC Emmen is complete again. 59-year-old René Dale, general manager of a logistics company, joins the club’s board. As a result, the board consists of three members again, Herman Harms and Henk Brink were already part of the FC Emmen board.

Dale is looking forward to everything that will come his way in his new board position. “Not least because I will be working with two racing drivers from whom I can learn a lot. But,” he adds, “I also hope to be able to contribute myself. In my opinion, with Rinse Bleeker, FC Emmen also has a good general manager. Together as a club we face a number of great challenges.”

Although he has lived in Emmen for twenty years, Dale is a real Groningen resident. The entrepreneur was born in Oude Pekela and grew up in the city of Groningen, where he became a branch director of a transport company. In 2004, Dale joined the Fritom group, where he is now CEO. With his company, Dale is a business partner of FC Emmen and namesake of the VIP Lounge in the stadium.

Because Dale grew up in Groningen and the football virus took hold of him at a young age, he has been a supporter of FC Groningen since he was six. “But because I have been living in Emmen with my family for many years now, to my complete satisfaction, I have become more and more a supporter of FC Emmen. And that is all possible, the mayor of the municipality of Emmen is also a passionate Feyenoord supporter.”
