FC Eindhoven started the competition in the Kitchen Champion Division very strongly. The team won the first three games and was even in a shared first place with Jong PSV. Then things started to get bad, with the 6-0 defeat on Saturday against FC Emmen as the low point for the time being.
The formation of trainer Maurice Verberne was hardly used in Drenthe. She was no match for the home team, who had not been in great form recently. But FC Eindhoven was a willing victim: the blue and white have not been able to win eight league games. They couldn’t have started the battle for the second period title in a worse way.
Yellow five times
Five FC Eindhoven players received a yellow card. Referee Stan Teuben handed it out to Owen Renfrum, among others, who made his debut in the starting line-up. The defender was happy to be in the starting lineup, but also had a ‘shitty feeling’ after the heavy defeat, he told the ESPN reporter.
FC Emmen’s goals were scored by Amadin and Postema (both two), Bakir and Mulder.
FC Eindhoven has now dropped from the top position to fifteenth place with a goal difference of nine for and 22 goals against. FC Emmen is now number ten in the rankings.
