The last round in the Kitchen Champion Division produced a lot of spectacle. In almost all Brabant teams, the decision in the game only came in the final phase. FC Eindhoven dramatically missed the period title, NAC drew in the last minute and secured the play-offs.
FC Volendam – FC Eindhoven
FC Eindhoven narrowly missed the third period title and the fourth period title was not for FC Eindhoven either. Despite a 2-0 lead via two goals from Sleegers, things went wrong just before time. Daryl van Mieghem scored the 2-2 with a long shot.
Nevertheless, the people of Eindhoven can look back on a good season. In the play-offs, the dream season must be crowned with promotion.
Excelsior – NAC
NAC miraculously missed the play-offs. Then Almere City had to take the period title and De Graafschap had to win big. But that scenario has never been realistic. In Rotterdam, NAC took the lead with a brilliant goal by Odysseus Velanas. The attacker tapped in a cross with the heel.
Excelsior quickly put things in order. Top scorer Thijs Dallinga scored the equalizer just before half time. Early in the second half it was Reuven Niemeijer with the 2-1. Just before time it was still equal, Malone headed in the 2-2. As a result, NAC will have to compete against ADO Den Haag next week.
Helmond Sport – FC Den Bosch
FC Den Bosch had a small theoretical chance to win the period title. Jack de Gier’s team took the lead after 25 minutes via Kevin Felida. Helmond Sport equalized in the 93rd minute via Boyd Reith.
Helmond Sport closes the season as last. FC Den Bosch finishes in eleventh place.
TOP Oss – MVV
For TOP Oss there was nothing left to play for on the last day of play. The people of Ossen lost in their own home of MVV Maastricht. Mitchel Keulen scored the only goal of the game after five minutes. TOP Oss finishes in fifteenth place.
Young PSV – FC Dordrecht
Ruud van Nistelrooij ended his period at Jong PSV with a draw. The U23 team took the lead in the first half via Simon Colyn. FC Dordrecht scored the equalizer just before time. Jong PSV ends the season as number twelve.
