The sports director of FC Bayern is in use at the Ski World Cup? Correct. Christoph Freund helped.
“Challenging, but also a really cool experience,” said Christoph Freund of the “Bild” newspaper about his commitment at the Ski World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The men’s departure took place on Sunday and brought out a surprise winner (more about the spectacle here) – and the sports director of FC Bayern was there live and helped on site.
How exactly? Christoph Freund was in action as a slip. The slides between the runs ensure that the slope remains in optimal condition and that all athletes can start under similar conditions.
Freund also said about his job on Sunday: “First of all you can see how steep and icy it is.” Then he joked his own performance: “No complaints.” After his mission, Freund also met silver medalists Vincent Kriechmayr for a short chat over the race.
No coincidence, because friend comes from Leogang, just about 30 minutes from Saalbach. The fact that he would be active at the World Cup as a helper has been determined since last summer – agreed at a meeting with the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV).
