FC Bayern’s squad for the coming season is taking shape. Some departures have already been confirmed. With a player on loan there is now clarity.
Bryan Zaragoza, who is currently on loan at AS Roma, will probably return to FC Bayern Munich in the summer. This is what Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports. Roma have a purchase option worth 13.5 million euros, but according to Romano they do not want to use it. The Spanish international was loaned to Rome by the German record champions in February 2026.
The purchase option would even have turned into an obligation if Zaragoza had played at least 50 percent of the possible minutes of play by the end of the season. According to transfermarkt.de, the offensive player currently only plays 14 percent of the playing time. He hasn’t played a league game since the beginning of March. In addition, Rome would have had to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League. The capital club is only in sixth place in the league, which entitles it to participate in the Conference League.
Zaragoza moved to Munich in the winter of 2024 for a loan fee of three million euros and was subsequently signed for 13 million euros. However, he was unable to assert himself in Munich and has had a number of loan spells since then. In the summer of 2024 he initially went to Osasuna for a year. A year later, the 1.64 meter tall attacker was loaned to Celta Vigo and just six months later he went to Rome.
Zaragoza is under contract with FC Bayern until June 30, 2029. However, it is unlikely that he will fulfill this requirement.
