Bavaria remains the measure of all things in the league. In the second last home game, the leaders Mainz gave no chance. The championship celebration still has to wait.
FC Bayern Munich won its 13th home win in the current Bundesliga season. On matchday 31, the German football record champion won 2-0 (2-0) against FSV Mainz 05.
The goals scored Leroy Sané in the 27th, Michael Olise in the 40th and Eric dier in the 84th minute. Through the victory, Bayern expand their points account to 75. This means that they continue to be number one in the table. However, since pursuer Bayer Leverkusen (67) also won in parallel, the decision in the championship is still open.
Müller was substituted in the 84th minute and celebrated loudly in his 500th Bundesliga game. Bitter for Bavaria: Harry Kane saw his fifth yellow card and is therefore missing in Leipzig (you can read more about this here).
The Bayern fans had to keep their breath away in the sixth minute: FSV captain Jonathan Burkardt skillfully accepted a long ball, but put his shot over the goal of Jonas Urbig from a distance of six meters. The young keeper again stood in the box for Manuel Neuer, who is back in training but is still spared.
However, the Mainz defensive then brought an injury out of the concept: Anthony Caci had to leave the place limping, and Sané uses the resulting short -term outnumber of ice cold. After a remarkable combination, he kept an overview in the penalty area and pushed the ball flat online. Shortly afterwards, Olise increased to 2-0 after a precise pass from a short distance.
A shot from Nadiem Amiri, the Urbig parried (56.), shook the Bavaria again after the break. Shortly afterwards, Sané was unlucky when his lifter landed on the post (62nd). The record champion then confidently checked the game – and finally made everything clear in the final phase when Dier hit the final score.
