FC Bayern wants to sign top talent

Bayern star Kimmich talks about the future

Bayern Munich’s midfield boss Joshua Kimmich is calm about the speculation about interest from Paris St. Germain. “I’m actually just concentrating on Bayern. For me that wasn’t an issue at all in the winter,” said the national soccer player after the 3-0 (1-0) win against TSG Hoffenheim on Friday.

Kimmich’s contract in Munich runs until 2025. “I think that we will sit down together at some point and that the club will then approach me. We will discuss everything that is discussed among ourselves – and not with you,” he said 28 year old.

Kimmich also declared his willingness to take on the role of right-back in the national team, as suggested by national coach Julian Nagelsmann. “You always have the feeling that I’m someone who refuses the position. I’ve never said that I don’t enjoy it or that I don’t want to play it. I love playing football, I love it, “Being on the pitch. Then for me it’s secondary where I play,” said Kimmich. Nagelsmann recently stated that Kimmich was “an option” for him for this position.

No departure: national player stays in the Bundesliga

National player Lukas Klostermann will remain with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. As RB sports director Rouven Schröder announced on Thursday, the 27-year-old has extended his contract with the Saxons until 2028. Klostermann’s previous working paper, which he signed in 2020, would have expired in the summer. Since the defender had hesitated for a long time before signing, there was speculation about a free transfer after the current season.

“Of course there were also considerations as to whether something new would be possible after the long time in Leipzig and accordingly, together with my wife and family, I calmly thought about the next step. And for me this step is now clearly called RB Leipzig,” said Klostermann. The defensive player moved from VfL Bochum to Saxony ten years ago.

At the same time, the farewell to on-loan attacker David Fofana is official. The 21-year-old Ivorian is returning to his home club Chelsea FC, as Union announced.
