Leonard Prescott was unexpectedly in the spotlight this season, even though he didn’t play a single game for FC Bayern. After the record champions struggled with injuries in goal, the 16-year-old was included in the squad for six games. This attention apparently ensured that clubs from abroad became aware of him.

According to “Sky”, Chelsea FC and Juventus Turin have their eye on Prescott. The Blues in particular have regularly signed young goalkeepers in recent years, including Filip Jørgensen (came from Villarreal at 22 for €24.5 million), Mike Penders (came from KRC Genk at 19 for €20 million) and Gabriel Slonina (came from Chicago Fire at 18 for €9.09 million).
Prescott could be next and, at least as things stand, shouldn’t be particularly expensive, as the youngster’s contract in Munich is only valid until the summer of 2027. However, an extension should be discussed soon. Word had already gotten around in the last few weeks that the New York-born keeper was believed to be able to make the long-term transition to the professionals, primarily due to his athleticism.

“He is very courageous in his actions and is exceptionally well developed for his age,” said U19 coach Peter Gaydarov. The DFB also became aware of Prescott early on. He was in the squad for the first time in the U15 squad and has made a total of ten appearances for the U16 and U17 teams.
