João Palhinha has been on loan from FC Bayern to Tottenham Hotspur since last summer. The 30-year-old, who never really caught on with the German record champions, is one of the regular players there. In 40 competitive games so far for the club, which is currently in danger of relegation, he scored five goals and prepared three more.
And now there are apparently new developments surrounding the Portuguese’s future Verbelbit. According to information from Sky Sport, the English are fundamentally interested in a permanent commitment. The “Spurs” have a purchase option for 25 million euros. However, the club is seeking renegotiations. A final decision is still pending.
One thing is clear: the midfielder is under contract with Munich until 2028. Palhinha moved from FC Fulham to Munich in the summer of 2024 for a fixed fee of 46 million euros plus bonus payments. After a disappointing year, he was loaned to Tottenham.
