Michael Olise has been in top form for months. The FC Bayern superstar developed into one of the best and most sought-after players in the world last season. There are always new headlines. The Frenchman actually just wants to play football – and preferably as well as possible.

In the Bundesliga alone, Olise scored 15 goals and also prepared 21 (!) goals. But the numbers aren’t that important to the French World Championship driver. Rather, he wants to inspire viewers in other ways.

“Football is a great sport, and that’s why it should be visually beautiful. It can be art. But I just see myself as a creative person. I don’t consider myself an artist,” said the 24-year-old in an interview with “L’Équipe”.

His sense of aesthetics is limited. not just on the offensive. “Even a beautiful defensive game can be great. A tackle can also be an incredibly fluid and elegant movement. If it’s fluid, who are we to deny it’s beauty?” asked the Bayern star.

Olise reacts to Mbappe praise

Together with Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé, Olise forms a superlative offensive in the Équipe Tricolore. The attacker contradicted his teammate Mbappé’s praise that he was a “player of the present and of tomorrow”: “At the moment I would say: Yes, I am a player of the present. If I continue to work hard and remain down-to-earth, I hope to become a player of the future.”

It’s clear that Olise really enjoys kicking. The description of his relationship to the round playing equipment makes this clear: “I just like to have the ball and feel it before we really get started. Yes, I like to have the ball in my hands or at my feet, that’s important to me,” said Olise.
