U-turn in the exciting goalkeeper question? A stay at VfB Stuttgart for the national goalkeeper Alexander Nübel, who is on loan from FC Bayern, is apparently not completely off the table.

According to “Sky”, the Swabians recently checked whether a new – and then third – loan for the 29-year-old was possible in accordance with the transfer rules. From this point of view, there is no hurdle for such a scenario, even if it is extremely unlikely, the report continues.

In any case, Nübel himself would “love to” continue to be between the posts at VfB Stuttgart, it is said.

There were discussions between his management and the Swabians’ leadership around the DFB Cup final against FC Bayern (0:3) last weekend. Further rounds of negotiations between all parties involved are scheduled for the coming days.

However, it is ruled out that VfB is seeking to purchase Nübels from FC Bayern.

The Munich team, in turn, is hoping to finally get the former Schalke player off the payroll this summer. Those responsible recently and publicly emphasized in unison that Nübel has no future on Säbener Strasse.

FC Bayern: Mega swap for Alexander Nübel?

According to “Bild”, there is an option for a Nübel sale to be integrated into the signing of dream player Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.

The Magpies are therefore looking for a goalkeeper and are fundamentally interested in Nübel. There should be corresponding mind games. However, the scenario is probably not really concrete yet.

At VfB Stuttgart, top talent Dennis Seimen was until recently considered the future number one and Nübel’s successor.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan to SC Paderborn until June 30th. Seimen has shown strong performances there in the past few months.
