FC Bayern set schedule with youngster Wanner

Paul Wanner once became the youngest Bundesliga player in the history of FC Bayern when he made his debut for Bayern Munich in January 2022, shortly after his 16th birthday. The youngster has been waiting for his big breakthrough ever since. In the meantime, it is becoming apparent how things could continue for Wanner from the summer.

FC Bayern didn’t hesitate long when it came to Wanner’s supposed mega talent, having tied him to the club for a long time last year until 2027. However, the now 17-year-old does not really want to ignite yet.

In the last few weeks and months, the teenager, who was born in Dornbirn, Austria, has been thrown back with persistent adductor problems. On the other hand, he recently had to undergo major dental surgery, which also entailed a forced break.

For the pros of the German record champions, Wanner has only made four brief appearances in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season. With the fourth-class U23 selection of FC Bayern, he was only on the pitch in five matches.

Wanner has played six Bundesliga games for FC Bayern so far

In order to finally get more playing time from the summer, there is probably a loan deal with another club. At least that’s what “Abendzeitung” reporter Maximilian Koch reported on Tuesday as “the most likely scenario”.

According to the source, head coach Thomas Tuchel is said to have a kind of veto-reto. The FC Bayern trainer will therefore be given time to take a close look at Wanner when he returns to team training fully resilient.

Only then should Tuchel make his final recommendation as to whether Wanner will be awarded for the coming season as planned.

In his career so far, Wanner has played a total of six Bundesliga games, all as a substitute under Tuchel predecessor Julian Nagelsmann.
