Recently there were rumors about FC Bayern and Feyenoord’s Givairo Read, now another right-back talent is apparently moving into the focus of the German record champions. According to reports from Croatia from “Sportske Novosti” and “24 sata”, the Munich-based team is scouting Luka Hodak from Hajduk Split.
It is said that Bayern representatives were present at Hajduk’s games in the SuperSport HNL against Slaven Belupo (0-0) and NK Osijek (2-0) at the beginning of November to see the 19-year-old live. The Croatian U21 international was in the starting line-up in both games and played almost the entire game, only being substituted for Slaven Belupo in the 84th minute. They were only his fourth and fifth games ever in Croatia’s upper house of football. According to reports, Hodak made a very good impression.
It is not yet known whether FC Bayern has already contacted the club to obtain further information. Hodak, who is considered one of the country’s most promising talents, has a contract with the nine-time Croatian champions until 2029. But it’s not just the people of Munich who are said to be interested in the youngster. Raków Czestochowa from Poland was the first applicant, with the hope of being able to lure Hodak to him before another club became aware of him. But this plan obviously didn’t work. Feyenoord is also said to have already observed the Croatian on site.

Transfer market expert “stodra” introduces Hodak
The transfer market expert for Croatian football, “stodra”, introduces Hodak in more detail: “In Split they are full of praise for him because he already acts in a very calm manner. What sets him apart: He is not afraid, goes into every duel, is very explosive going forward, often moves from the side into the middle and therefore often creates outnumbered situations in attack for his teammates. Of course he also has his weaknesses, especially in defense, but he can do that with good reading the situation or his carefreeness and his instinctive play are already well balanced.”
Hodak does not yet have a market value as he had not made two appearances as of the deadline for the interim update in Croatia on September 30th. This will follow at the end of December with the complete update. It is also worth mentioning that Hodak could also play for Slovenia because his father has Slovenian citizenship. The association also contacted him and offered him a pass, but Hodak decided against it and shortly afterwards received an invitation from Croatia’s U19, for which he played 22 times before moving up to the U21, where he could soon make his debut.
