Sacha Boey (25) will continue the season at former club Galatasaray. Both the Turkish club and FC Bayern confirmed the right-back’s loan on Thursday. In the summer, the team from Istanbul will have the opportunity to permanently bring back their record sales. According to Gala’s official information, the Süper Lig leader will pay a loan fee of 500,000 euros. Boey will also receive a guaranteed net salary of 1.75 million euros until the summer. The clubs did not agree on any binding clauses for the purchase option, the amount of which was not disclosed.
In Munich, should Boey return in the summer, the player still has a contract until 2028. “Sacha knows Galatasaray very well from his time before he moved to us and will not need a long warm-up time in a familiar environment,” explained sports director Max Eberl in a statement from FC Bayern. “He can collect minutes of action at the highest level in the Champions League playoffs against Juventus and in the title fight of the Turkish Süper Lig, which will be very good for his development.”
The Frenchman went to Munich from Galatasaray in a record departure two years ago for 30 million euros, but was unable to live up to expectations. At the start of the season, the right-back was used surprisingly regularly at FC Bayern, but not since the beginning of November. A rare and long-term gastrointestinal illness kept him out of action for a long time. At the end of January he made his short comeback in the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven (1:2).
At Galatasaray, Boey made 83 appearances in two and a half years, contributing four goals and four assists. At FC Bayern there were only 38 appearances in two years. He missed more than 40 games due to injury. He spent the entire duration of 26 competitive games on the reserve bench.
Gala also brings Nhaga and Gladbach’s Güner
Galatasaray had previously presented midfield talent Renato Nhaga. The 18-year-old comes from Casa Pia AC and has a contract until 2030. According to official information, the transfer fee amounts to 6.5 million euros, which means Nhaga replaces Ruben Kluivert (24), who moved to Olympique Lyon in the summer, as the Portuguese first division club’s most expensive sale. In the evening, Gala also confirmed the signing of Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Can Armando Güler (18).
