FC Bayern has found a buyer for João Palhinha. The defensive midfielder moves back to the Premier League and follows Tottenham Hotspur loan. Integrated into the deal is a purchase option for the coming summer, which should be 25 million euros. Immediately a rental fee is due above the 5 million to 6 million euros including bonuses.
The Spurs should also take over the entire salary of the 30-year-old, who still has a contract with Bayern by 2028. According to “Sky”, this amounts to 10 million euros, the “picture” even writes of around 16 million euros. Palhinha came to Bayern from FC Fulham a year ago and at that time cost 51 million euros. Only five entrances were more expensive in the history of the FCB. If there is a permanent farewell next year, there would be a clear transfer minus. Nevertheless, the German record champion should be happy to have got away with the personnel to be lightly lightly, since the Portuguese international has never really played a role under coach Vincent Kompany since his arrival.
Max Eberl, sports director of FC Bayern, said: “Unfortunately, João Palhinha did not come up with the hoped-for operating times at FC Bayern last season. With Tottenham Hotspur, we have found the best solution for all sides. João can complete a whole season at the top international level. We wish him all the best for the upcoming year of the game.”
With the Munich team, Palhinha only came to a total of 25 missions over 986 minutes, in the Bundesliga he was on the lawn 17 times. A muscle injury had forced him to take a longer break, and he was also due to illness and externally due to illness. Its market value fell from initially 55 million euros to currently 30 million euros. Previously in Fulham, he had played 79 games in two years and set up a personal best of 60 million euros.

Tottenham: First replacement for Ü30 professionals in a decade?
In the event of a commitment, Europa League winner Tottenham would take money for a Ü30 professional for the first time in a decade. In August 2017, the then 32 -year -old attacker Fernando Llorente was brought by Swansea City for 15.1 million euros. Since the 2018/19 season, the LilyWhites have invested 1.13 billion euros in transfer fees – but only in newcomers that had not exceeded 30 years.
Palhinha has been the fourth transfer between Bavaria and Tottenham since 2023. Harry Kane started with his record access to the Munich team for 95 million euros, followed by Eric dier. Mathys Tel, with whom he now plays together again.
