An unusual occurrence: After ongoing rumors of interest in Michael Olise, Real Madrid issued an official statement, citing its good relations with FC Bayern.

Early on Saturday evening, the Royals shared a statement aimed at the recent speculation surrounding Michael Olise, who had a fabulous season with the German record champions and is currently playing well at the World Cup.

The complete statement:

“In view of reports in various media about our club’s alleged interest in the FC Bayern Munich player Michael Olise, Real Madrid CF would like to clarify that there has been no contact – neither direct nor indirect – with the said player, his representatives or his entourage.

Real Madrid would also like to highlight the excellent institutional relations with FC Bayern Munich – with whom we have a long history of mutual respect, cooperation and appreciation – and regrets the spread of speculation that does not correspond to reality.

The two clubs have always maintained a relationship based on trust and mutual respect. This is reflected, among other things, in the shared belief that any interest in a player from the other club must first be discussed between the organizations themselves – in accordance with the principles of institutional loyalty that have historically shaped the relationship between FC Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.”

No worries at FC Bayern

The headlines left FC Bayern completely unaffected anyway. “If Florentino Pérez wants to send us an offer for Michael Olise, he can save himself that,” said President Herbert Hainer during a fan club visit to the old and new Real president.

Even at 150 million euros, the German record champions would not be weakened, said Hainer, Olise was “not for sale”. Honorary President Uli Hoeneß sounded similar when he said of José Mourinho: “He can throw five eyes at Olise, he won’t get him.”
