Star coach José Mourinho is about to return to Real Madrid. Before the Portuguese takes up the coaching position there, he traveled to the DFB Cup final between FC Bayern and VfB Stuttgart on Saturday. Uli Hoeneß promptly gave the guest a verbal tip.
When José Mourinho sits down in the VIP stand at the Berlin Olympic Stadium in the evening, he will probably take a close look at some of the players. According to Spanish media reports, his comeback as coach of Real Madrid is a done deal.
There has long been discussion about which personnel decisions the 63-year-old could make after his introduction to the Royals.
There are persistent rumors that Michael Olise from FC Bayern could become a possible transfer target.
In Munich, however, people don’t want to know anything about it. “He can throw five eyes at Olise, he won’t get him,” said honorary president Uli Hoeneß before the cup final on “Sky” against Mourinho and Real Madrid.
FC Bayern repeatedly rules out Olise’s farewell
With this, the club patriarch renewed the slogan that has been used prayerfully on Säbener Strasse for months: Michael Olise is and remains not for sale. In addition to Real, Liverpool FC was also recently said to be interested in the French international.
“We don’t have to think for a second,” sports director Max Eberl made it clear in the “ZDF-Sportstudio” at the end of April. Olise is “a player who is developing outstandingly at FC Bayern together with the team and the coach,” argued the 52-year-old.
The German record champions signed Olise from Crystal Palace in the Premier League in the summer of 2024 for a rumored transfer fee of around 53 million euros. Its market value is likely to have more than doubled since then.
In the current season, Olise is a driver of the success story in the furious offensive alongside Harry Kane and Luis Diaz.
