Goalkeeper Alexander Nübel is currently the third goalkeeper at the World Cup. However, it is still unclear where he will be between the posts after the summer. Now there is first official interest.

As Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reports, Besiktas has made an official move. Accordingly, the Turkish club has contacted FC Bayern regarding Nübel.

The goalkeeper has been under contract with the German record champions since 2020, but has only been between the posts four times. Rather, Nübel was loaned out again and again – first to Monaco and most recently to VfB Stuttgart for three years.

However, they will be relying on youngster Dennis Seimen next season, which is why they no longer have any use for Nübel. A new loan to VfB is therefore probably off the table.

Princely salary as a hurdle

A return to FC Bayern, where Nübel still has a contract until 2029, is also off the table. However, this contract makes a permanent change so difficult, after all, Nübel earns around eleven million euros with his working paper. Money that he probably doesn’t want to miss out on.

Accordingly, acquiring Nübel is difficult and also for Besiktas. In addition, Nübel is not said to be too keen on the idea of moving to the Süper Lig anyway.

However, that does not stop Besiktas from entering into negotiations with FC Bayern. The result of this is just as open as the future of Nübel.

He is currently at the World Cup with the German national team and will face two keepers from his parent club there. In addition to Manuel Neuer, Jonas Urbig also traveled to the USA, although he is not in the official squad.

Urbig is considered the designated successor to Manuel Neuer at FC Bayern.
