The Munich women will have another alternative in midfield in the future. The club reacts to several failures.

After several injuries to their regulars, the FC Bayern soccer players struck the transfer market and hired Arianna Caruso from Juventus Turin. The 25 -year -old Italian international comes to Munich on loan. Caruso’s loan contract runs there until the end of the season.

“The move to FC Bayern is a great opportunity for me. I made the right decision. The FCB is a club with great history. I am happy to be here and strengthen the team,” said the player in a message.

Caruso has been running for Turin since the 2017/18 season and won six championships during this time and three times the trophy and supercup. In 2019, the 25-year-old made her debut for the Italian national team.

Bavaria currently have to compensate for Georgia Stanway and Sarah Zadrazil’s failures in midfield. The English European champion had been operated on last week after suffering from an outdoor tape tear in training. In Munich, next to Zadrazil, she is the key figure in the headquarters. But the Austrian is also currently missing and laboratories on a muscle fiber tear in the thigh. In addition, Germany’s international Lena Oberdorf, also a midfielder, works on her comeback after a cruciate ligament tear.

For the restart of the women’s Bundesliga, Bavaria’s coach Alexander Straus therefore rely on Julia Zigiotti Olme and the rather offensive Sydney Lohmann. The Munich women won 1-0 at RB Leipzig.

For the Bavarians, who are also involved in the DFB Cup and the Champions League in addition to the championship fight, “there are crucial phases in the season,” said technical manager Francisco de Sa Fardilha. With Caruso, who brings both attributes of a playmaker and a “Holding Six”, Bavaria now has more options in midfield.
