FC Bayern Munich – Nagelsmann feels with injured Tolisso: “Devastated”

Munich (dpa) – Bayern professional Corentin Tolisso has withdrawn to his home country France after the next muscle injury. This was reported by coach Julian Nagelsmann before FC Bayern’s Champions League game at FC Villarreal.

Tolisso, who has only just recovered from a hamstring injury, tore a muscle fiber again last weekend after coming on in Freiburg, Nagelsmann confirmed.

For 27-year-old Tolisso, the renewed absence is also difficult because his contract in Munich expires at the end of the season. He can now recommend himself neither for a new employer nor for a contract extension with the record champions. His high susceptibility to injury becomes a problem for him.

“It’s not an easy situation for him. He was devastated, he’s done with the world, that’s understandable from a sporting point of view,” Nagelsmann said sympathetically on Tuesday: “He’s had a lot of muscle fiber tears in the last few months and a lot Lost days in recent years.”

Nagelsmann spoke of a “not so easy situation” for the player because of the expiring contract. “He’s in France now, trying to change his mind and then find new strength and courage.” Tolisso came from Olympique Lyon in the summer of 2017 as the then Munich record purchase for 41.5 million euros.
