Bayern striker gets a foot in the head – and hits the goal
Updated March 28, 2026 – 3:13 p.mReading time: 3 minutes

FC Bayern’s women can take a big step towards the German championship against 1. FC Nürnberg.
On paper it’s an unequal duel. The still unbeaten leaders from Munich with the best offense in the league (79 goals) host the women of 1. FC Nürnberg and therefore also the second-worst defense (51 goals conceded) in the Bundesliga.
A home win would not mean the final championship for FC Bayern, but it would be a big step towards their fourth league title in a row. Five game days before the end of the season, coach José Barcala’s team is eleven points ahead of VfL Wolfsburg. Follow the game in the live ticker.
FC Bayern Munich – 1. FC Nuremberg 1:0 (0:0)
46th minute – Of course the Bayern women take the lead after a corner. Viggosdottir first heads the crossbar, Imade’s head is there from a few meters and he dusts it off. But the Bayern striker gets the foot of a Nuremberg woman in the head. The 25-year-old stays down for a moment and can then continue playing – 1-0 for FC Bayern.
Halftime – The guests’ plan is working out so far. Nuremberg is secure at the back and keeps trying to put pinpricks forward. Bayern, on the other hand, don’t seem to be 100 percent focused. The passing quality in the final third can be improved. It is significant that the two best chances came from set pieces.
42nd minute – Almost the lead for Nuremberg! Bayern goalkeeper Mala Grohs holds the ball for far too long. Nuremberg’s Homann puts them under pressure and decisively deflects their pass. Nastassja Lein gets to the ball, but shoots past the goal from a few meters.
37th minute – Almost the lead for Bayern. Imade gets to a cross in front of Nuremberg’s goalkeeper, but the ball goes centimeters over the crossbar.
36th minute – Nuremberg in luck: Pollak kicks Bayern’s Padilla-Bidas in the legs on the edge of the penalty area. Referee Karoline Wacker awards a free kick. In the replay, however, it looks more like a penalty would have been the right decision. However, there is no video referee in the women’s Bundesliga.
28th minute – The first chance of the game: Dunst breaks through on the left side, Imade has a lot of space in the center, but the Bayern striker heads past the goal.
25th minute – Nuremberg has been selling well so far. They defend well and keep running bravely against Munich. It is not yet clear that the top offense is facing the second-worst defense.
16th minute – Nuremberg keeps coming forward dangerously, but without really threatening to score. A shot from Emöke Papai from 20 meters goes a meter wide.
