According to the report, FC Bayern made a second offer for the 21-year-old. In an initial offer, the Bundesliga leaders would have offered five million euros, it is said. Now it should be a higher amount. However, it is apparently not known exactly how much money Bayern are offering in their second offer.
According to the report, it is clear that 1. FC Cologne rejected the Munich team’s second purchase proposal as well as the first. The second division team led by sports director Christian Keller is not yet satisfied with the sum offered for Urbig.
It is also said that Bayern would not pay any amount for the German U21 national goalkeeper. The result is that the negotiations are probably going into the next round.
Urbig is planned as a replacement for regular goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. In the fight for the place behind the world champion, he might have to face two competitors. Neuer’s long-time representative Sven Ulreich on one side and the currently injured Daniel Peretz on the other.
The Israeli national goalkeeper has apparently received an offer from the French first division club RC Lens. The club wants to loan Peretz and make him number one, reports Sky. Bayern would probably accept the offer. Peretz doesn’t want to leave the club at the moment.
At the end of the second half of the season, thanks to the injury-related absences of Neuer and Ulreich, the 24-year-old was able to play a few games in the Bayern goal, showing solid performances and establishing himself as number two for the time being. If Urbig moves to Munich, Peretz may still have second thoughts about leaving.
