Fan buses must remain outside the city gates and Bayern supporters must travel to and from the stadium using public transport. The German champions don’t like that.

Shortly before the clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, FC Bayern formally lodged a complaint with UEFA (from 9 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online). They also want to take further legal options, the club said in a statement on Monday. The trigger was security measures taken at short notice by the Paris police authorities, which affected the arrival of the Munich club’s fans.

FC Bayern was therefore only informed late that the police prefecture had issued a so-called general order. This regulates the arrival routes of away fans and provides for controlled coordination by the authorities. Fan buses should be collected at a motorway toll point outside the city before the game. Supporters who arrive individually may only use public transport to get to the stadium.

After the final whistle, all fans must return to their original means of transport. The buses are then escorted out of the city by the police.

The people of Munich are irritated by the late communication of the measures: “For FC Bayern, the short-term nature of the decision is unacceptable, as in this case, as with all of the German record champions’ games, all the crucial information has been available transparently for weeks,” the club said. In addition, there has been no change in the risk situation with regard to FC Bayern fans since the last meeting in Paris in 2023.

In addition, the club expects the official requirements to impose significant restrictions on the supporters traveling with them. Due to legally required driving times, the return journey of the buses will probably not be possible until around 5 a.m. FC Bayern announced that it would examine further legal steps. The German record champions also receive support from hosts PSG.
