Arijon Ibrahimovic will return to Serie A after his year at Frosinone. FC Bayern loaned the 19-year-old offensive talent to Lazio for the rest of the season. The Italians then say they have a purchase option, after which the Munich-based company could activate a buyback clause.

“Arijon is a young player with great perspectives who is constantly developing,” said Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund about the Nuremberg native. “He was able to gain valuable experience in Serie A last season and should now take the next steps at Lazio. Arijon has been playing at FC Bayern since his youth: We want to support players like him, he gives his all in every session and now needs continuous playing time at the top level. We will continue to follow him closely because he brings everything with him.”

After two short appearances, Ibrahimovic has not yet had any significant playing time in the Bundesliga. Even in the Champions League and the DFB Cup, he was only allowed to play briefly as a substitute once. At Frosinone he played almost 600 minutes in 18 games in the league and cup last season.

FC Bayern will receive a double-digit million sum for Ibrahimovic

A sum of 8 to 10 million euros was mentioned in recent media reports regarding the purchase option for Lazio. FC Bayern would have to pay 20 million euros for the buyback option.

“Playing time is extremely important. Maybe in January we will have the opportunity to find a suitable loan for one or two players,” sports director Max Eberl recently announced. A loan for defender Adam Aznou (18) is still possible. On the other hand, the Munich team is not planning such a model for striker Mathys Tel (19). “With Mathys, he is fully part of our planning,” said Eberl. “The offensive squad is broad, but not too broad.”
