FC Barcelona is interested in Lennart Karl, it was recently reported from Spain. But FC Bayern fans probably don’t have to worry about the top talent leaving.

The Spanish sports newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” recently reported that Karl was on FC Barcelona’s transfer list for the future.

“It may well be that there is interest and admiration for the German’s qualities and potential. But FC Bayern Munich will not sell Karl,” wrote “Bild” football director Christian Falk on his portal “cfbayerninsider.com”.

Karl was the discovery of the past season for the German record champions. The 18-year-old contributed nine goals and eight assists in 39 competitive games and thus earned a nomination for the 2026 World Cup.

Bitter: Karl was injured in DFB training a few days before the start of the tournament. A torn muscle bundle shattered the World Cup dream.

“Now he is injured and back at Säbener Strasse for his medical examinations and so on. But these examinations are intended to make him fit again for FC Bayern Munich – not for Barcelona,” Falk clarified.

FC Bayern assures Karl of support

Those responsible in Munich recently publicly supported Karl.

“Lenny will receive all the support at FC Bayern so that he can be back on the pitch soon – and we all know that he still has many big tournaments ahead of him. He himself is already looking forward and says he will come back stronger. That’s what I like about him, and that’s the spirit that is needed in such moments,” said sports director Max Eberl.

According to information from “Bild”, Karl will probably miss six to eight weeks due to the torn muscle bundle. FC Bayern’s first competitive game in the 2026/27 season will take place on August 22nd. The double winner will then visit Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup.
