Daniel Heuer Fernandes is having a strong season at HSV. He probably also impressed the German record champions with his solid performances.

FC Bayern apparently came across Daniel Heuer Fernandes from Hamburger SV when looking for a new goalkeeper. As “Sport Bild” reports, the Munich team is looking for an experienced number two in the event that Manuel Neuer’s career ends in the summer. Jonas Urbig, who has guarded the record champions’ goal several times this season, is considered the new number one.

This year Fernandes’ contract expires in the summer. However, if Hamburg stays in the league, this would automatically be extended by one year. Discussions are also underway about an early extension. The sticking point: The 33-year-old is reportedly demanding more salary.

The German-Portuguese goalkeeper has appeared in all 27 Bundesliga games so far, finishing six of them with a clean sheet. Before moving to HSV in 2019, he played for Darmstadt 98 and SC Paderborn, among others.
