FC Bayern wants to focus more on training its own top talent in the future, as club president Herbert Hainer made clear in his speech at the annual general meeting. Nevertheless, the people of Munich continue to monitor promising youngsters from abroad. As has now become known, the focus has been on Brazil for some time.
FC Bayern has been monitoring the development of Brazilian talent Henrique Fabiano do Carmo for six months now. This is reported by the portal “UOL”.
The Munich team has sent scouts to his home club FC Sao Paulo several times to obtain information about the player. The talent scouts will continue to monitor Henrique Fabiano’s development over the next few months.
The 16-year-old has been playing for the six-time Brazilian champions since he was seven. The midfielder has so far played for Sao Paulo’s U17 team and scored three goals in 14 games in the national U17 championship.
FC Bayern is actually looking for “statement players made by Bayern”
Henrique Fabiano has long since played his way into the Selecao’s orbit. So far, he has been able to appear twice for Brazil’s U16 national team in the past. Since then, he has scored one international goal.
How big the stakes are that FC Sao Paulo is placing on the top talent is made clear by the release clause that was set in the agreement on the first professional contract last year, according to “UOL”. An interested club would have to raise the equivalent of around 50 million euros to sign Henrique Fabiano.
Money that FC Bayern will probably want to invest in training their own talents in the future. At the FC Bayern Campus, “the next great talents will be developed in the next few years,” emphasized club president Herbert Hainer at the annual general meeting on Sunday. “Jamal Musiala, Josip Stanisic, Frans Krätzig and Alex Pavlovic should only be the beginning. We need more statement players made by Bayern to make history with us.”
