His former club Tottenham Hotspur avoided falling into the second division on matchday 38 of the Premier League with a 1-0 home win against Everton FC. Instead, West Ham United has to make the difficult journey into the Championship alongside Burnley FC and Wolverhampton.

The 32-year-old has played a total of 435 competitive games (280 goals) for Spurs in his career. In the summer of 2023, the center forward said goodbye to FC Bayern.
